Gavin is an accomplished trial attorney with more than a decade of litigation experience representing individuals facing some of the most significant challenges of their lives. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for meticulous case preparation, persuasive courtroom advocacy, and unwavering dedication to protecting his clients’ interests. He brings that same commitment to helping individuals and families seek justice after serious injuries caused by negligence.
Prior to entering private practice, Gavin served as a Principal Assistant Public Defender with the Lake County Public Defender’s Office. In this role, he developed litigation strategy, argued complex motions, negotiated favorable resolutions, and tried numerous cases before judges and juries, securing favorable verdicts in numerous high-profile felony trials.
In addition to his courtroom practice, Gavin has drafted substantive appeals before the Illinois Appellate Court and has developed and presented multiple Illinois MCLE-accredited continuing legal education programs for fellow attorneys.
Gavin earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, he served as a member of the Chicago-Kent Law Review and was selected as a Justice John Paul Stevens Public Interest Fellow. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, summa cum laude, from DePaul University.
A proud Chicagoan, Gavin grew up in Jefferson Park and attended Northside College Preparatory High School.
