A 17-year-old mother presented to a local area hospital for the birth of her son. During the delivery, shoulder dystocia was encountered, and maneuvers were made by the obstetrician to free the impacted shoulder and deliver the baby. The baby was born with a brachial plexus injury. During the course of delivery, the collared bone was fractured on the left side. The plaintiff claimed that excessive traction was used to free the impacted shoulder, which resulted in the brachial plexus injury to his right arm. Bradley Schulman represented the minor child in this case.
