Lawyers Nicholas J. Motherway, Robert J. Napleton, Daniel T. Madigan, and Nicholas T. Motherway were again named as “Leading Lawyers” in the area of plaintiff’s personal injury law and medical negligence. Brion W. Doherty moved from “Emerging Lawyers” to “Leading Lawyers” this year. The distinction of being a “Leading Lawyer” is given only to five percent of all lawyers licensed to practice in Illinois. Selection is based on survey results from peers in the legal community who are asked: “If a family member or friend needed legal help and you couldn’t take the case, to whom would you refer them?”
Lawyers Bradley Z. Schulman and David J. Gallagher were named by “Leading Lawyers” list as “Emerging Lawyers.” Lawyers are selected for this list in a similar peer-review process, but it is for lawyers under 40 years of age. The distinction of being named as an “Emerging Lawyer” is reserved to the top two percent of all lawyers under the age of 40 licensed in Illinois.
