On August 10, 2021, a 67-year-old woman presented to the hospital with leg pain. No radiographic imaging was done on the lower extremity. Subsequently, she developed arterial ischemia and ultimately lost her right leg. The patient had hypertension, stage 4 COPD, emphysema and uncontrolled Type II diabetes. The case was settled before the suit was ever filed. The patient passed away less than a year after the settlement due to unrelated comorbidities.
