On September 3, 2019, a 45-year-old Chicago resident was riding his moped northbound on Halsted Street at the intersection with 117^th Street when he was struck by a school bus that had pulled out into his lane of traffic to make a turn in front of him.  The driver of the bus contended that the plaintiff was traveling 47 mph in a 30 mph zone in the rain and was the cause of the collision.

The plaintiff was a forklift operator for Ford Motor Company who sustained injuries, including a left pelvic fracture, left rib fractures, pulmonary contusions, and traumatic brain injury.

Daniel T. Madigan represented the plaintiff.

This is the third settlement in the last year of over one million dollars for a bicycle/moped case for Daniel T. Madigan.
